2012 Get Well & Happy Birthday

About a month ago Selena (fellow Cricuter) asked for cards to be sent to her 13yr old niece. Who was in the hospital during her Birthday.  I told Selena about the Cricut fairies and how they work.  And that I would send a card too.

Well, I ended up making two cards and sending a little gift.

Get Well card:
Owl from Hoot'n' Holler,
Embossed background Stampendous Perlized Amethyst using Recollections Wood grain stamp.

The Birthday card is a lift from (hold on, I wrote it down and now I can't find the paper.)
When I find it, if I ever find it (I've been looking for an hour.) I will up-date.

I made the vellum envelope, punched the stars with EK success star punch, and used washi tape.

Thanks for looking.

Has it been a year! Really? 2012

I find it hard to believe a year has gone by and I am just now getting around to my blog. Wow, I guess my priorities were not focused here. I really do want to have a place to say, "Hi", "Here's what I've been up to", "Take a look at my crafts", Life, and stuff.

I have a plan of how I want my space to look (it's so not there yet), what I'll share and a time frame to follow. So, who needs January 1st to start a new. Today is a new day, (well morning, 1:00am) gee, I think is time to get some sleep.

Halloween 2011

I made a few small treat bags for some of the neighborhood kids. One of the kids said "oooh what's this? Are there treats inside?"  It was very cute.

I also made a small coffin but ran out of time to decorate so maybe next year.

 Cartridge Happy Hauntings.

I finished the birthday card. It is a simple card but fun. I found the mechanics for the card on YouTube called "Marvelous Magical Marquee Card Tutorial" Size: A2

When you open the card a window opens to reveal a message.

Cut four pieces

add the tape& decorate.

What I used:
  • Fiskars paper trimmer,
  • Martha Stewart (MS) Monarch butterfly Large #42-30002,
  • MS Craft 3 in 1 #M283036,
  • MS Traditional scallop edge #42-40010 punches,
  • EK Success Circle cutter,
  • EK Success 2" Circle scallop,
I didn't use a square punch like in the video, I used the paper trimmer instead.
  • Jewels from dollar bin,
  • Pens-Pilot G-1 UG1M-BRZBBC &Sakura Gelly Roll Clear star (my favorite pen)
  • Terrifically Tacky Tape and Zipdry glue.

That's is for now. Thanks for stopping by. Please leave a comment if you have any questions.

Follow-up Cards of Hope

A quick follow-up on the Breast Cancer Survivors card drive. Here is a link to the news article.

I saw a close-up of the Dragonfly love card and a sentiment. It really makes me feel good to know that cards I made, gave people hope and brighten their day. I feel very honored to be able to help.
